| Sartori To Bounce Back At Bunbury Posted Friday, 29 January 2010 by BCM Motorsports Marketing |
| After last weekend’s results at the Perth Motorplex Ken Sartori and the Cowara Motorsports team are more than keen to jump back with a win this weekend at Bunbury Speedway. The eighth place finish in the A-Main ended a streak that not too many teams could claim, finishing with a top five in seven straight meetings. This incredible consistency has seen the team catapult up the point’s ladder in both of the domestic series held here in Western Australia – The AHG Series and the Hydraulink Southern Thunder Series. He now sits in second place in the season points for the AHG rounds which incorporate all of the races held here in WA, only thirty six points in arrears, while in the Hydraulink STS he now leads the way by the slim margin of eleven points. The debut of the new chassis for the Philmac #41was always going to be a hard task, and a number of factors lead to it taking a while to sort out the new car. Come the second heat the car started to show some potential and some real speed around the Kwinana high banks, but it was to late to salvage a good starting position for the final, but Sartori wasn’t about to give up. He had to start out of position thirteen on a track where the pace was fast, but passing opportunities were rare. He had some titanic battles during the twenty five lap final and in the end had made up five places to finish eighth. The Cowara team had put in another fine effort but the final result didn’t really reflect the work they and Sartori had put in over the evening. After the meeting Sartori was clearly dejected with the result. “We made some changes through the night that made the car pretty good in the final. The motor started to get hot about ten laps into it so I slowed down a little so I could bring the thing home. I expected to go better than what we did but we gotta keep working on the thing. I’m a bit frustrated really as I don’t think I’ve worked so hard trying to get a car to go. Hey we will keep trying things and see what we can do.” The team has spent the last week making sure that the Maxim chassis, black and red beast will be at it its best for the Stingaz Skate and Surf Faceoff this weekend at Bunbury Speedway. Over the course of the season the team as a whole has worked too hard to get to where they are in the season points and won’t want to let all that hard work go to waste with a poor result this weekend.
