Jamie Maiolo leads Triple Crown series

JAMIE Maiolo is in the box seat to win the AHG Easy As 123 Triple Crown that concludes at the Perth Motorplex next Saturday night.

Maiolo has claimed a second and a third in the first two rounds and as a result he has 290 points in the season-ending mini-series.

Second is Taylor Milling who has recorded a fifth and an eighth, giving him 274 points to lead from Aldo De Paoli on 270 (thanks to his sixth and ninth).

Victorian Tim Van Ginneken was the early leader in the series after he won round one that doubled as the WA Sprintcar Championship.

Unfortunately he dropped to fifth last week after being a DNF on lap 13.

Fellow Victorian Jamie Veal won last week’s feature race but that was his only appearance in the series.

Andrew Priolo is another driver who has snuck under the radar in the last couple of weeks and as a result of his sixth last weekend, he is fourth overall.
