Scelzi is ready to sizzle


AFTER running third to Jason Kendrick and Cameron Gessner in the third round of Wormall Civil USA v WA Sprintcar Speedweek at the Perth Motorplex on Tuesday night, American Dominic Scelzi wants to go even better.

He will chasing the top spot on the podium when the remaining rounds of the mini-series are held at Quit Bunbury Speedway on Friday night and back at the Motorplex on Sunday night.

“I think we have learnt what we need to learn and after the first four races I have been out here I now want to pick one of these things off bad,” Scelzi said on the podium.

Prior to contesting Speedweek he raced in the WA Sprintcar Championship and a Fast Racing series show at the Motorplex.

“Running third and being that close to it – it just makes me even more hungry.

“You come to a place like this (Motorplex) and it’s on the fence, we are banging off the wall at both ends and you could run the bottom, you could run the middle, you can’t ask for anything better – hats off to you guys this is the most beautiful place in the country, in the world if you have ever wondered, and thanks all you guys for coming out this is awesome.”

Scelzi spoke highly of the Wormall family for bring him and countryman Brian Brown to Western Australia.

“I have become really good friends with them and they have given me an amazing opportunity – honestly I couldn’t be any happier, this is big.”
