MITCHELL Wormall is the early leader in the 2016-17 AHG Sprintcar Series points battle as teams gear up for round 4 at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday night.
Wormall has 688 points to be just in front of Jason Kendrick on 678 and Jamie Maiolo on 648.
All three played their Jokers in Bunbury last weekend, doubling their feature race points, with Wormall finishing ninth, Maiolo 10th and Kendrick posting a DNF.
Brad Maiolo, the defending AHG Sprintcar Series champion, who finished second last Saturday and is yet to player his Joker, is fourth on 580 points, from Ben Ellement 574, Callum Williamson 558 (who also played his Joker), Andrew Priolo 550, James Inglis 546, Lee Nash 540 and Scott Chatwin 534, to round out the top 10.
