Joker win no joke for JPM


THANKS to playing his Joker at the start of the second round at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday night, Jason Pryde is now the early leader in the 2017-18 AHG Sprintcar Series.

Because he played the Joker and won the feature race from Jason Kendrick and Jamie Oldfield, Pryde now has 582 points in the season-long battle.

He was also one of the drivers who received bonus points for attending the season launch in Perth in early October.

Pryde also claimed a ninth in the opening feature race at the Motorplex last weekend.

Jamie Maiolo, who has claimed a third and seventh in the feature races, and also elected to play his Joker on Saturday night, is second on 562 points.

Third is Jamie Oldfield, who has run a 360ci-powered car in both rounds and taken a sixth and a third, giving him 432 points.

Defending series champion Brad Maiolo is fourth on 424 after a fourth and an eighth from the two rounds so far.

The top five is rounded out by Jason Kendrick who posted a DNF in round one and then recovered for a second in round two, for 412 points.
