Following round #9 of the AHG Sprintcar Series competition at the Quit Bunbury Speedway last night, pointscore leader Bradley Maiolo has been joined by his older brother Jamie at the top of the standings.

Bradley finished second to Jason Kendrick in the 25-lap A Main at Bunbury after winning the previous round at Perth Motorplex - in which he played his double points "Joker" card.

Jamie failed to finish the feature race, but had played his "Joker" and so doubled his tally on the night (100 X 2 = 200).

Spare a thought for the unlucky Kye Scroop who badly damaged his car at Kwinana on Boxing Day, then crashed out during the time trial at Bunbury.

He took no further part in the meeting and had also played his "Joker" meaning his 50 show up points were doubled to 100.

Youngster Cale Sotiroff maintained his third spot in the rankings, with Jason Pryde dropping from second down to fourth.

Defending AHG Sprintcar Series champ Cameron Gessner finished third at Bunbury and has jumped from seventh up to fifth - and still has his "Joker" card up his sleeve.

Sheldon Brady sits in sixth spot in the pointscore ahead of Callum Williamson, Ryan Lancaster, Jason Kendrick (with his "Joker"card still to play) and Trent Pigdon.

Kye Scroop is in eleventh position and is 118 points behind Pigdon.

Lee Nash has the same pointscore tally as Scroop - with a bundle of drivers behind him who must finish races if they are going to break into the all important "Top 10" for the "Chase".

Next weekend will be crucial in th final reckoning with a double header meeting set down for the Perth Motorplex.

The annual Sprintcar Muster is always a big event - and this time there will be two pointscoring rounds for the drivers.

Friday January 3 and Saturday January 4 are the dates to put into your "must see" diary.

Will the likes of Cameron Gessner (5th), Jason Kendrick (9th), Lee Nash (12th) or David Priolo (16th) - who hopes to return to action after his injury - play their "Joker" card over the weekend.
