With nine of the scheduled 14 qualifying rounds of the AHG Sprintcar Series done and dusted, it seems an appropriate time to have a look at how the new double point "Joker" card has panned out.
A total of 14 drivers have already used their "Joker" card and the rest of the competitors have until round #14 at Perth Motorplex on Saturday January 25 to do likewise.
The "Joker" card is a bit lke a poker hand - you never know what you are going to get.
Competitors have to nominate to use their "Joker" at the drivers meeting prior to the start of the racing - before they even get out on the track.
Naturally they hope they are going to finish right up the leaderboard to maximise their points haul.
Sometimes it works out - other times it does not.
That's the nature of the beast.
Only one driver - Bradley Maiolo - has claimed the maximum points on offer (300) for winning the A Main after playing his "Joker".
South Australian Luke Dillon - the very first driver to play his "Joker" - came home third.
Let's have a look at how the drivers have fared after deciding to play their "Joker" card.
